As someone who’s a diehard passionate baseball fan who not only loves watching her favorite team play but also enjoys seeing other teams there’s nothing more genuine then going to spring training from early February- late March before the season starts. I experienced my first spring training in 2011 it was such a good experience haven’t stop going back since. I highly recommend every baseball fan to experience spring training at least once in there lifetime and heres why.
Cactus League
To start all 30 teams split between training in Arizona or Florida there are 15 teams in each league Cactus & Grapefruit each league is very different when it comes to different weather how each team does there practices and stadiums. i’ve only experienced cactus league since i live in Arizona cactus league is pretty simple and fun for one the weather is usually beautiful this time of year in the valley.

Most of the stadiums around the valley are very close to each other the drive isn’t too bad going from one stadium to another the farthest is about 45mins depending on traffic and there are 10 stadiums located around the phoenix metro each stadium has its own beauty I am bias because I live here but my personal favorite stadiums are the obvious salt river fields where dbacks & rockies play and my second favorite would be sloan park where the cubs play both stadiums are beautiful and very similar to each other.
Fan Experiences

If your a baseball fan that loves meeting the players getting lots of autographs there’s nothing better than spring training each team has its own practice almost everyday before the game and on non game days going to practice is always so much fun. It’s so fun getting up close and personal with the players being able to watch them do batting practice do on field drills most teams have similar start times for when practice starts.
I am a dbacks fan and go up to watch them practice almost every spring from 9-12:30 there’s nothing better being able to see you favorite team and players up close in person while getting pictures with them being able to talk to them face to face having small conversations.
besides dbacks practice I’ve been to the padres , royals all great experiences some teams let you have more ability to walk around there facility getting really up close with the players while some are much more difficult to get autographs.
Watching a game
My absolute favorite part about spring training is being able to watch baseball outside since I am a dbacks fan and we have to watch are team play indoors because of the extreme heat we have here in Az.
there’s really never a bad seat in the house to watch any team play most of the stadiums have very good seating depending on which park your going to for a game the night games are my absolute favorite. I love day games just as much but there’s just something more magical about watching a baseball game outside at night.
Conclusion
Weather your choosing to visit Arizona or Florida for spring training there’s something for every baseball fan weather your going to get autographs , see new teams play , watch a game or just going for a good time with friends & family I can’t recommend going to spring training enough for every baseball fan it’s so worth it in the end you won’t regret it.
