My first time visiting kauffman stadium in Kansas City Missouri last month was a trip I’ll never forget it was so much fun. this was also are first time in Missouri long story short we went all the way to Kansas City to watch the dbacks play the royals all three games it was also my first time being at all three games for a series which I’d totally do it again in a heartbeat since I had so much fun.

The first game of the series my family and I went to was on Labor Day it was also a giveaway game for the royals they were giving away an iced out hockey royals themed jersey. when we first got to Kauffman stadium I was in awe of how beautiful the stadium was I had been wanting to visit Kauffman stadium for many years now its always been one of my top stadiums Ive always wanted to visit so I was very happy to be there was also pretty happy to be wearing my new dbacks montana west purse for the first time. when we finally entered the stadium it was pretty packed very busy there were plenty of dbacks fans at the game was pretty happy about that glad we weren’t the only ones haha my family and I immediately started walking around the park there was plenty to see.

First thing we did was go in the team shop to look around afterwards had to go see the fountains in the outfields they were so pretty now when we planned this baseball trip to Kansas City in September we were planning on the weather being cool like in the 70s but it was the complete opposite of that it was hot very warm very humid especially the first two games of the series game 1 was hot the tickets I had purchased were practically behind the dbacks dugout we only lasted in those seats a few innings was way to hot to sit in the sun but the views were stunning couldn’t have been any better.

Basically we ended up walking around the stadium for a bit until we went up to the porch area were your able to sit and stand kinda of like standing room only which was nice being able to get out the sun. my first kauffman stadium food was nachos and a lemonade in a souvenir cup was very good. now as for the game that was going on it was a pitchers dull between the dbacks and royals it was 0-0 throughout most of the game.

After being up in the porch area for awhile my friend who I met on baseball twitter was at the game she had messaged me saying that the row by her and her dad were empty and in the shade so my family and I headed that way this was the first time meeting her in person and her dad. and man did we have so much fun together at the game the game went into extra innings that’s when all the excitement ended up happening.

Dbacks would score five runs and royals almost came back and won scoring four in the bottom of the 10th overall first game of the series was a blast dbacks won the first game my friend Hannah and I had a blast actually booth of our families had so much together it was like we already knew each other for years.

Fast forward to Tuesday the next day game 2 of the series I was so excited couldn’t wait to be back at the park this time before the game my dad and I were doing on field batting practice I could not wait to see the players up close be on the field and hopefully get some autographs.

We had to be at the park at 3:40 for on field batting practice wasn’t a huge group when we first gathered on the field then more and more fans started coming on to the field but we hadn’t even been on the field that long when some of the royals players started coming over to sign and before my eyes Bobby Witt Jr came over to sign autographs I was lucky enough to be one of the few people he signed for that day I was beside myself.

I was shaking was so happy I also got a picture with him almost cried my on field batting practice experience was already made I was so happy. after watching royals take bp dbacks were slowly coming out for bp was pretty bummed that Corbin Carroll wasn’t out there he ended up not being in the lineup that day which was alright since we can see him any time.

not many dbacks players took bp that day or signed which I didn’t blame them at all it was so hot that day and so humid game time temp was over 100 degrees with humidity it felt like 109 it was gross and that’s coming from someone that’s from AZ who’s used to extreme heat.

Despite the heat overall on field batting practice was a blast I’d do it again my goal is to hopefully do on field bp at every stadium I visit. after we got of the field headed towards are seats which were in pretty much the same section as the day before close behind the dbacks dugout this time we could actually sit in our seats with it being evening time and no blistering hot sun shinning down on us.

For stadium food this time I got dipping dots in a royals souvenir helmet was very delicious Corbin Burnes was making his season debut for the dbacks that game coming back from injury. he pitched alright it was deja vu all over again felt like we were watching the same game from Monday royals and dbacks were once again scoreless.

I got to meet another one of my royals baseball friends who I met through baseball twitter at the game my friend Alyssa it was our first time meeting in person just like Hannah she was very sweet we both had so much fun together a lot of laughs. dbacks were one out away from winning game two until John Rave for the royals hit a game tying two run homer Alyssa actually called that homer.

I was just sitting there in disbelief but was happy for her being the supportive friend haha another extra inning game I really couldn’t believe it the game ended up going 11innings dbacks won scoring two runs in the 11th thanks to a Lourdes Gurriel Jr triple. It was such a long day for us we ended up spending 7hrs at the park that day we had been there since 3:40 the game was over by 10 I was exhausted but had another fun exciting day at kauffman stadium had so much fun with Alyssa after seeing two extra innings games back to back I was done with extra innings games for the season.

Now was really hoping we’d see a dbacks sweep our last game of the series I was already happy we had taken the series our last game of the series was Wednesday it wasn’t looking so good the weather forecast that day was forecasting thunderstorms and my dad and I had plans to attend on field batting practice again but the weather had other ideas. on field bp was cancelled that day due to rain the game was still scheduled to start was just delayed about 30mins.

Last game of the series was much cooler not as hot unfortunately dbacks failed to complete the sweep of the royals but it was ok I got to see Bobby Witt Jr and Nolan Arenado hit homeruns there were tons of dbacks fans throughout the whole series which was very fun seeing all the other dbacks fans at the game.

our baseball trip to Kansas City ended up being so much fun it couldn’t have been better it was a trip I’ll never forget we had so much fun going to all three games experiencing a new ballpark I had fun getting to be at the game with my baseball friends overall Kauffman Stadium was amazing everyone was so friendly so helpful I enjoyed the midwestern hospitality so much my favorite thing about Kauffman Stadium had to be the fountains my favorite part about the whole entire trip besides meeting my baseball friends was being able to meet Bobby Witt Jr.

we’re already planning baseball trips for next season can’t wait to do more baseball trips next year and in the near future.
