Dbacks ended the first half off the season last Sunday on a very high note not only beating the dodgers but ended up sweeping them all three games at dodger stadium in which they haven’t done that since September of 2017 , even myself was shocked and amazed at what the Dbacks went out and did in LA.

They were able to win all three games by how they played Dbacks played really good baseball all three games there pitching , defense offense and bullpen were all outstanding pretty impressive game one of the series Ohtani was supposed to pitch against the Dbacks which in my mind I was already thinking automatic lost since Ohtani is a very good pitcher and very hard to beat. it ended up working in the Dbacks favor as dodgers went with a bullpen game instead Edraudo Rodriguez was set to pitch for the Dbacks.

Booth teams would score in the first inning of the game with Dbacks striking first scoring two runs in the first dodgers would follow with back to back homers to tie up the game. after giving up solo homers in the first inning of the game Eduardo Rodriguez would settle down nicely the rest of the game giving up zero earned runs. Dbacks however would go on to score seven more runs with a four rbi game from Tim Tawa . Dbacks would win game 1 9-2.

Game 2 of the series was Brandon Pfaadt vs Yoshinobu Yamamoto another tough pitcher we would be facing I was nervous dbacks have never beat Yamamoto have always struggled to score any runs of of him mind you he’s an amazing pitcher very tough. but dbacks would do the complete opposite in this game by the sixth inning it was 6-0 thanks to Tim Tawa a three run homer from James Mccann. Brandon Pfaadt would only give up two runs in the sixth but otherwise he pitched a very good game up until the sixth he was cruising through the dodgers shutting them out. James Mccann and Nolan Areando went back to back in the eight inning and once again Dbacks bullpen pitched another clean game without giving up any runs rest of the game.

Final game of the series was a good one Dbacks had there new guy Mitch Bratt pitch who they had called up from reno to fill in for the injured Zac Gallen who was schedule to pitch that day it was a blessing to not have to watch Gallen pitch. Dodgers would come out and take an early 3-0 lead for four innings I never once gave up watching this game play out I just knew dbacks would find a way to win this game.

It was once again another comeback game for the Dbacks Ildemaro Vargas hit the go ahead single in the sixth inning to give Dbacks a 4-3 lead over LA the comeback wouldn’t have been possible without another outstanding performance by this Dbacks bullpen and amazing defense by Nolan Arenado , Geraldo Perdomo to take away potential game tying runs. Tim Tawa would add a insurance run in the ninth with another homerun.

Paul Sewald got his 22nd save of the season to secure the Dbacks sweep it was a very good way to end the first half of the season by going 5-2 on there final road trip before the all star break it was also a very important road trip to help them keep pace in the wild card race. with there series sweep in LA Dbacks would only be 2.5 games back of a WC spot heading into the all star break.
