Every baseball fan knows by now how good of a pitcher Paul Skenes is he’s one of the best pitchers in the MLB currently. He’s very fun to watch weather you get to see him play on tv or in person it’s all still pretty cool my chance finally came being able to watch one of the best pitchers play in person for the first time.

And last week getting to watch Paul Skenes play in person finally happened everything also worked out so perfectly with having the day off from work that day. originally It looked like Skenes was going to be pitching the previous day on Tuesday instead of Wednesday so it worked out in my favor.

Left early for the game that day was going to try and get Skenes autograph it was worth a shot never hurts to try got to the park really early and headed straight down to wear the pirates were taking BP was able to see the pirates number 1 prospect Konnor Griffin up close he was signing autographs that was pretty cool.

Had to have a lot of patience waiting by the bullpen for Paul Skenes to finally come out and start doing his warm ups before the game there was a lot of fans waiting by the netting and bullpen for Skenes to come out it took a little while for him to finally come out. but once he finally came out everyone got super excited and started saying his name in excitement he walked right past the fans headed for the bullpen but being able to see him that close up I was practically so close I could high five him.

Skenes went straight to the bullpen to do his whole bullpen routine before the game Paul Skenes has a pretty good routine before game time he was very focused on the game. he came out again started throwing around a football to his teammate oddly enough another thing that’s part of his pre game routine. afterwards he was playing catch started throwing the baseball around just being there being able to watch Skenes do his warm ups before the game was an amazing experience just another unforgettable moment I’ve had being a baseball fan I’ve had so many amazing experiences as a baseball fan so far.

Once the game started it was very cool getting to watch Skenes pitch but I also wanted the dbacks to try and win this game facing Skenes for any team isn’t easy unless you’re the St. Louis cardinals the only team he has yet to beat. for the first few innings Skenes was pitching a perfect game up until the sixth inning I’ve never seen a perfect game before would be really cool to see one in person just not against the dbacks.

Dbacks had nothing going for them against Paul Skenes I really wasn’t expecting them to win this game in the end the pirates did end up winning the game 1-0 it wasn’t even a bad game at all our pitcher who was pitching that game Michael Soroka was just as good only making one mistake in the first inning giving up a solo shot to Brandon Lowe but other then that he was outstanding with the help of some amazing defense behind him the whole game.

Was just one of those games you couldn’t be upset with the ending results but getting to watch Paul Skenes pitch in person was very cool.
